Dagsê! The Rand Stamps website is a glimpse into the passions of a somewhat eccentric South African collector-dealer, Paul van Zeyl. The “who” part is listed (a little formally) on the “about us” page. Perhaps it is more insightful to record that Paul has exhibited nationally almost every year since 1974. In past years, he has put up to three new exhibits annually.
Because he prefers the “Open Class”, sometimes called Social Philately, his client dealing range (“services”) not only covers stamps and postal history - exhibition favourites - but also postcards, postal stationery, original documents (including those with revenue stamps) and photographs, as well as philatelic and historic publications.
He is sometimes a little difficult to contact! He can usually be found at local (South African) weekly fairs and, for international clients, at the York and Philatex (London) fairs. He is known to travel long distances for esoteric African collections, increasingly his “turn-on” motivation. Best leave e-mail messages (firstname.lastname@example.org) while Paul is pursuing some or other mirage. In Africa, mirages are sometimes reality … or is it the other way round?! Contact him to find out.
